We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, subscribe to our services, or contact us for support.

Account Information: Name, email address, password (hashed), profile picture (optional).

Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on problems, progress and completion data for courses and practice questions.

Payment Information: Processed securely by our payment provider (Razorpay). We do not store card numbers or CVV codes.

Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URLs. Collected automatically when you visit our platform.

Communications: Messages you send us via support channels or contact forms.

AI Mentor Conversations: Conversations with the AI Mentor are saved to your account and may be reviewed by AlgoInsight staff to improve answers. You can delete them from the mentor panel at any time. Only the most recent messages are retained, and the mentor never sees your email, payment details or raw resume text. Conversations from signed-out visitors are not stored.

We use the information we collect to:

- Provide, maintain, and improve AlgoInsight's features and services

- Personalize your learning experience and track your progress

- Process transactions and send related information, including purchase confirmations and invoices

- Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages

- Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests

- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve platform performance

- Detect, prevent, and address fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity

- Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

We may share your information with:

Service Providers: Third-party vendors that help us operate our platform (e.g., Razorpay for payments, cloud hosting providers, Anthropic for AI features). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred with advance notice.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect and use personal information about you, including to serve interest-based advertising.

Essential Cookies: Required for the platform to function (authentication, session management).

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings.

You can clear your AI assistant conversation at any time from the chat window; doing so permanently deletes the stored conversation.

Upon account deletion:

- Your profile and personal data - including saved AI assistant conversations - are permanently deleted within 30 days

- Anonymized usage data (stripped of all identifying information) may be retained for analytics purposes

- Legal and financial records are retained as required by applicable law (typically 7 years)

We take security seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect your information:

- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3

- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with salt rounds

- Database access is restricted to authorized personnel only

- Regular security audits and penetration testing

- 2-factor authentication available for accounts

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).

Portability: Request a machine-readable export of your data.

Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.

Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

AlgoInsight is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@algoinsight.io and we will delete such information within 72 hours.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by:

- Sending an email to the address associated with your account

- Displaying a prominent notice on our platform

- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

Your continued use of AlgoInsight after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
